gonna be a very random post!

school's been really busy and tiring since the semester began. sighs.

sooo bogged down with the 1001 practicals & data sheets to complete. sighs, sighs.

nevertheless, i decided to blog abt 2 experiments i completed recently. actually it's for the benefit of non-Science ppl, who probably do not haf the chance to see such stuff in their entire lives. wahahah!

the 1st experiment is called Gas Chromatography.

it involves using a very precise syringe that measures up to microlitres, which is 1-millionth of a litre.

then we inject the substance under study into this Gas Chromatograph machine.

have a cup of tea while waiting, and after abt 5 mins, the results will be out!

the 2nd experiment has to do with detecting sugars. managed to get some pretty colours in the test tubes from the reactions. =)

but this experiment probably made my life a little shorter. the chemicals were freaking pungent, and we were working in an air-con lab which obviously has poor air ventilation. these fumes definitely dont do our bodies any good. =( and we needed to work with concentrated sulphuric acid for the reactions. Da Jie had a little accident with it. some acid got on her sleeves which burned a h o l e right thru the lab coat, and also had contact with her arm, so she experienced a painful sensation for quite awhile. so dangerous right?!

sighs. at such moments, i will always envy students from business/architecture/media, who dont need to face life-threatening situations for a damn data sheet.

nvm, on to the happier stuff! =D

last wk we managed to get a present for Birdie for her 18th bday! a backpack which she was aiming liao. yayy.

so this is a very happie Birdie with her spanking-new backpack, and her very gay Elmo kids.

then this morning, while waiting for lessons to start, the whole class suddenly very high, and started camwhoring TOGETHER. and we even asked our lecturer to take the pictures for us.

suuuuper lame cans! weee~
