went to a hospital to visit a friend over the wkend, and realised the place was having a crisis with a norovirus, the gastric virus. it had caused 3 deaths in the hospital within few days. darn scary. click here to read more about norovirus.

we were told to wear masks upon entering the wards cos the virus is airborne, and to wash our hands with sanitisers as it spreads thru contact too.



the healthcare staff earned my respect definitely, after watching them working in the wards with the latex gloves & face masks. it reminded me of the SARS crisis several yrs back, when S'pore had hit the panic button. despite high potential of being infected with the SARS virus, the healthcare staff nv chicken out. that makes them really brave, and worthy of respect.
