listening to: 张信哲 - 有一点动心

finally im onto my bday celebs. =)

first & foremost is with my darling Stephie on the 2nd! who else would be so sweet to take half-day leave just to celeb my birthday with me? =P

lunch @ Gelare. since it was Tuesday the waffles were going at half-price!

den gai-gai everywhere for almost 3 hours! and it's dinner time over at Ikoi Japanese Restaurant @ Hotel Miramar in the evening. =)

i didnt know where we were heading to beforehand, so was really surprised when Stef led me to a hotel, and subsequently a Japanese restaurant with quite an authentic Japanese feel!

we had the ala carte buffet. once we sat down, we were immediately served with salmon sashimi, many other small side dishes, and green tea.

some cucumber & carrot salad i think. i ate the carrot okie! dont play play. but it was soooo raw i felt like a rabbit. *munch munch*

was also served some complimentary soup. when i peeped inside the pot, there were some weird mushrooms, 1 part of a crabstick and some veggies. i had totally no idea what i was drinking but it was freaking nice.

and we started ordering the ala carte dishes!

Chawanmushi & Cheese Fishcakes. look at the cheese inside!

Tempura.

some fish that Stephie loves but i have no idea what it is. too many bones liaoo!

all-time fave Chicken Wings! but only the skin was shiok, the meat inside was barely marinated.

Chicken Yakitori.

Breaded Tempura. not nice de.

Chicken Karaage.

some baby-serving Fried Rice. hahah laughed my head off when it was served. can only fill 3 tablespoons loe.

and one of the most heavenly item was the Crabstick Bacon Roll. suuuuper shiok! once you bite it, the bacon & crabstick melts in your mouth!!

and the finale....

Salmon & Swordfish Sashimi. look at how chunky the slices were. OMG i felt so blissful chewing all of them down. the thickness of 1 slice from Ikoi = 3 slices from Sakae Sushi.

the ala carte dishes may seem small-serving but when you put everything together into your tummy... woohoo! guaranteed to be filled to the brim.

look at the pathetically small table we sat at! it was literally bursting with plates and the servers had to come frequently to clear the empty ones.

and silly Stephie who initially told me she didnt prepare any birthday presents for me, suddenly gave me a really nicely-wrapped present! GOSHH shocked the hell out of me.

and guess what?...

it is the Chloe perfume!

ohmigawwwwwd, sooo expensive larrr! =( thank you for striking that off my wishlist dear! =)

then she offered to help me stick the screen protector onto my digicam too. so sweet right? =P

after dinner we went to pak tor at this colourful & romantic bridge. =) it was really pretty at night, with the bright colours on the bridge.

and we walked all the way to Liang Court cos i was looking for Japanese rice for sushi, so thought of trying my luck at Meidi-Ya the Japanese supermarket. oh and to digest our dinner of cos.

and we found some scarily-priced food items in there!

$59 watermelon...

$79 melon...

and a holy $149 box of muscat grapes!!!

Japanese are so crazy. BUT I LIKE.

To Stef: thank you soooo much for the surprise dinner, surprise present, and in fact every single thing! =D feel so bad to make you spend a bomb.

and thanks for looking for my Japanese rice with me. hahaha.

goshh, i love you to the max! =))) *muackk.
