havent been blogging about it, cos, well, forgetful Mommy Min has lost count of the number of weeks.

goshh.

wait let me think.

okie, i think im in Week 19! let's see what's up this week. it should be about 6 inches by now, the length of a short ruler. and its kidneys are fully functioning so it's starting to pee. in me. woo~

fetal scan at Mount A next week. getting nervous, and i'll be going alone. sighs. hope everything turns out fine and that i dont lose my way!

i dont know if other mom-to-bes are worrywarts like me, or am i an odd one out. but i seem to have never-ending worries, every day. as my tummy and, ahem, chest area, get bigger, i worry to death about stretch marks that wont go away after it is out. and as my tummy gets heavier, i worry about varicose veins appearing on my legs. i was telling Mr Tan i can just die if i do have them. i still want to wear short skirts & killer heels to work in the future! a book mentioned that  Mom is your best crystal ball. if she has them, it's highly likely you will get it. OMG, my Mom does. im so dead.

and Mom was asking if im starting to do 胎教, like reading storybooks to it or playing some Mozart music. i said no, cos i dont know what to say to somebody i have never met. she says to say anything that i want, stuff like, " 你要乖乖 hor." wow, i seriously cant imagine myself doing that. i believe in dialogues, not monologues.

but she insisted that it's true. cos she kept watching TV when she had my Kor, and my Kor loves watching TV since he was a baby. and she kept gossiping to the neighbours when she had me so im very talkative. goshh. if that is true, it will probably drive very well in the future cos ive been burying my head in the theory books these days! hahaha! future taxi Formula One driver.

anyway, Birdie is right. Rayden is becoming my niece, getting prettier every day. must be the floral mittens and pink shirts they dressed him in occasionally.

last weekend after i reached back home, i went around the house looking for him, but i saw a pretty baby girl sleeping in the room instead. so i went to ask Mom who the new baby in the house was.

she he freaking looked totally different from just 1 week ago! he suddenly grew alot longer, and his face looked more mature. almost couldnt recognise him.

and i saw him stick out his little pinky when his good old Grand-dad was feeding him. i almost fainted.

the most manly thing he has done so far is to fart thunderously. didnt know babies could fart so well. he farted in the living room and my mom could hear it. in the kitchen. =O

ever since my wedding, the first & foremost question i got from the people around me was, "does your in-law treat you well?"

i was wondering to myself, why dont people ask if Mr Tan is treating me well, instead asking me about Mom Tan

my conclusion: you can choose your hubby, not your in-law.

and many people have probably heard one story too many of scary in-laws.

well, my new family has been treating me well, if not i wouldnt have agreed to move in and stay with them. i think it's essential to maintain a good relationship with your new family. a relationship is between 2 people, but a marriage is between 2 families. even if you & hubby have a nest of your own, you cant deny that a good relationship with the new family is still important. otherwise misunderstandings are bound to occur, eventually leading to friction between you & hubby. no matter which side your hubby stands at, the other party is going to be pissed.

simply put, interaction with in-laws is an ART.
