Baby Shanice has just turned 1 week old! ♥

she just returned home from an additional 3-day stay at Mount Alvernia for phototherapy due to neonatal jaundice. she had to be placed underneath the blue photolight to control her condition.

usually it is a 2-day stay for phototherapy, but it was 3 days for her cos it was a borderline pass on the 2nd day. the paediatrician (PD) suggested that we shine her for 1 extra day to be on the safe side.

so i had been hanging around Mount A on Thurs & Fri to pass them my expressed breastmilk, and also wait for her feeding time to latch her on. that means for the past week, i had been at Mount A every day except Tues. it's really draining for me, and i havent slept for more than 3 hours straight since she was born, cos i had to wake up and be a good cow for feedings/expressing breastmilk. dont know how long this routine will last, and how long i can take it. but i will hang on certainly for her sake. i will not succumb to formula-feeding for her. it's EVIL.

will blog more when i have more energy. for now, here's Baby Shanice when she was about 1 hour old!

P.S. 1: something i learned since becoming a mom - you never know the real meaning of heartbreak, until you hear your newborn cry.

P.S. 2:  loads of thanks to those who dropped by my ward. Baby Shanice says she loves the pretty gifts!
