oops, dusty place already. i didnt even know 2 weeks had passed since my last entry. time simply flies by when you have a baby in the house. she pretty much needs constant attention so your time and hands are perpetually occupied.

that's why i think i'll be losing my friends soon. ever since i was into the 8th month of pregnancy, the only occasions i saw my friends were in the hospital after delivering Shanice, and at my place for her full month. i havent met my friends simply to chill. i simply dont have the time & energy anymore. will i end up like my mom whose friends are the other aunties she got to know in the wet market?

anyway, following the discovery of my mini pants, i also discovered the existence of my mini bras. cant believe my old boobies were of such negligible size. the old bras can only contain half of my new boobies. but no im not pleased with the new & improved size. in hot weather the cleavage gets so sweaty and uncomfortable. and i miss wearing tee shirts without the graphics going out of shape. return me my small but cute boobies!

and i had my postnatal massage last week. the massage was shiokness, esp the back massage which i badly needed from carrying Shanice. and the massage lady was able to offer many useful advice regarding breastfeeding or taking care of babies. had a great experience with her. anyone who needs her contact let me know! this was the tummy wrap she did for me. the most significant difference was after the 1st wrap. Mr Tan got a shock and asked was it really my tummy i had there. that was how different it was! but the wrap was really, really tight till i cant really breathe nor walk properly.

Shanice loves it when people sing to her. i tried singing all sorts of songs to her that came to my mind, from emo Mandarin songs to cheesy English love ballads to Xmas songs, until one fine day i ran out of ideas. then i resorted to singing campfire songs. finally something useful from the old guiding days. still i ran out of campfire songs and googled for more, and i came across the song God Bless My Underwear. the lyrics go like this:

God bless my underwear, my only pair.
Stand beside them, and guide them,
Through the rips, through the holes, through the tears.
From the washer, to the dryer, to the clothesline in the air.
God bless my underwear, my only pair.

somebody please explain to me the reason for writing this lame shit song.

and little Rayden (his age, not size) is going 8 months. just being absent from his life for 1.5 months and he is now able to sit in his highchair to eat his semi-solids. no wonder people often say kids grow up fast. yes they grow fast, only when they are not your kids. i often look at Shanice and wonder when she will grow up and be ready to face the world.

and i realise babies are good topic starters. when i bring her gai-gai, many strangers will follow this protocol:

Step One: look at her and exclaim: baby so cute! her eyes so big!
Step Two: look at me and smile. ---> =)

some will ask if she's full-month yet cos apparently she's still very small physically. others will compliment her huge eyes, and few will comment on her yellow skin cos of her stubborn jaundice. i seldom have so much attention from strangers! feels awkward awesome.

these were when Shanice was 5 weeks old. she can hold her own milk bottle! ive got a genius baby.

then she turns 6 weeks old!

she looks more and more like Mr Tan by the day. life is unfair. hello, whose tummy did you live in for 9 months, and whose milk are you drinking now?

but it's all right i guess, cos if she looks like Mr Tan she will be very pretty. =D

all right, til then!

when two becomes three.
